The community of Fort Dodge is located on the Des Moines River
in Webster County, approximately 90 miles north of Iowa’s
capital, Des Moines, and has a population of around 26,000. The
Fort Dodge Community School District has approximately 4,000
students attending nine schools: six elementary buildings which
house grades pre-kindergarten through 4; two middle schools, one
which houses grades 5-6 and one which houses grades 7-8; one
high school which houses grades 9-12 and an alternative high
school.
